Product Description
Zinc Galvanized wire is created by coating carbon steel wire with zinc. This can be done through electro-plating or hot-dip galvanizing. Galvanized wire is used in applications where corrosion resistance is needed.
Our galvanised iron wire is processed from quality carbon steel wire materials meeting ASTM A641 and other international standards set for Zinc–Coated (Galvanized) Carbon Steel Wire.
Zinc Galvanized Iron Wire is devided into hot-dip galvanized wire and electro galvanized wire in terms of galvanization method. The most common method is hot-dip galvanizing, in which the wire is submerged in a bath of molten zinc. Normally Hot-dip galvanized wire has two grades in zinc layer thickness: regular coating and Heavy coating.
Zinc Galvanized Iron Wire Materials
low carbon steel, medium carbon steel or high carbon steel.
Finishes of Galvanized Wire can be zinc coating (hot dipped galvanized, electro galvanized), PVC coated, annealed, tempered oil painted.

1. Excellent corrosion resistance: This is the core feature. The zinc layer forms a physical barrier on the surface of steel, isolating air and moisture. More importantly, the chemical properties of zinc are more active than iron (lower potential). When the coating is damaged or the cut exposes the iron base, the zinc will be corroded first as a "sacrificial anode", thereby protecting the internal iron wire (cathodic protection principle).
2. Good strength: Its strength mainly comes from the iron wire substrate (usually low carbon steel). Through the cold drawing process, iron wire with high tensile strength (such as the common "hard galvanized iron wire") can be manufactured. Iron wires of different specifications (wire diameters) correspond to different strength grades.
3. Certain ductility and toughness: According to the processing technology (such as annealing treatment), galvanized iron wire can have good flexibility and bendability (such as "soft galvanized iron wire"), which is convenient for bundling, weaving and shaping.
4. Bright surface or with a certain texture: The surface of hot-dip galvanized iron wire usually has zinc flowers and is dark in color; the surface of electro-galvanized iron wire is relatively uniform and bright. The surface condition also affects its friction coefficient and feel.
5. Easy to process and use: It can be easily cut, bent, twisted and braided with conventional tools (such as pliers, wire cutters).
6. A variety of specifications are available: The wire diameter range is very wide, from very thin (such as 0.2mm for flower binding) to thicker (such as 4.0mm and above for structural binding).
7. Controllable coating thickness: Depending on the use environment (corrosiveness), products with different zinc layer thicknesses (such as ordinary galvanizing, thickened galvanizing) can be selected. The amount of zinc coating is usually expressed in grams per square meter (g/m²).
